Our Lady of Lourdes’ Parish celebrates 2018 Children/Youth Harvest

Sunday, September 9, 2018, was another remarkable day at Our Lady of Lourdes’ Catholic Church, Creek Road, Port Harcourt, as the Parish held the 2018 Children and Youth harvest and Bazaar respectively.
The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Clement Dekoo, thanked the parishioners for their collective support and contribution towards the success of the harvest.
Fr. Dekoo enjoined the faithful in his homily to be thankful to God no matter the condition they find themselves adding that God has given them every reason to be thankful to him. He enjoined them to participate actively in the Harvest.
The Parish Priest encouraged them to harvest with faith believing that God shows no partiality in his blessing. “Do not create distinction between people in your environment; rather, treat everyone equally with love just as Christ did.
Chairman of the Harvest Planning Committee, Mr. Emmanuel Duru, thanked Fr. Dekoo and his assistant, Rev. Fr. Patrick Onwuegbuchlem for the support and encouragement given them to organize a successful harvest and thanked the parishioners for their contributions and participation.
Mr. Felix Amaeruchi who chaired the occasion, thanked God for the gift of life. He encouraged parents and guardians to support the children. “Children are gifts from God and should be celebrated”, he said.
Highlights of the occasion were, Holy Mass, Drama, Visit to the 2018 king and Queen of the Harvest and Bazaar.
